‘These Days’ Lucy Caldwell

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It has been a pleasure to read and review this book. This is a gripping historical story set in Belfast in 1941. The world is at war and the two characters are very much at war with themselves.

Two sisters Audrey and Emma are surviving the threats of enemy bombs but are also having battles within themselves.

Audrey is due to be married to a local doctor and knows she should be looking forward to this but something is holding her back.

Emma is in a secret relationship with a woman that she knows will not be accepted by others but does not want to give it up.

Very well researched and set in the time of the Belfast bombings of World War Two.

The characters are very well described and developed and the story is very atmospheric. This is a book for fans of historical fiction and also literary fiction.

A great read and highly recommended.

Thank you to the author, published and Reader's First in allowing me to read in return for a review.
