‘Sidle Creek’ Jolene McIlwain

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'Sidle Creek' by Jolene McIlwain is a collection of short stories set hills of Appalachia in western Pennsylvania.

The stories are an exploration of the characters and their lives and all work together to complement each other.

The stories also tells the story of the place where the author grew up and this is noticeable by the tender and honest portrayal of the characters in the stories.

There are many themes in these stories including trauma, class and health among many and the stories are told in a way that make you invested in the characters.

The way the stories are told in different settings and parts f the area almost give you a overall view of the area and the lives within it.

The writing is beautiful and descriptive and gives you an impulse to keep on reading as well as giving you an escape from your reality for a short time.

Highly recommended and especially for fans of well described and developed characters and readers that like a portrayal of life beautifully told.

Thanks to the author and Melville House in allowing me to take part in this great blog tour.
