A thriller that also reads as a literary novel, the story revolves around the Indian village of Teetarpur where not a lot happens until a child is found dead. Suspicion falls on one subject and it is up to Sub-Inspector Ombit Singh to find out if this small Hindu community is right in its suspicions. It is a fight to maintain order and stop vengeance being carried out by the mourning community.
It is a fast paced thriller that will keep you gripped, however it also offers strong descriptions of the environment and the setting for the story.
You end up walking along with the characters as they are that visual and well described.
This is an important book that not just keeps you gripped but also looks at themes of religion and how communities live together.
This book is going to be under people's radar for the craftful way it is written and it will be loved by many.
